Goods Dock

The Goods Dock had been in situ for around 30 years. The timber supports were rotten and needed to be replaced. The dock surface sleepers were lifted and placed to one side for re-use whilst the supporting structure of rotten sleepers and ash was removed. New concrete block piers have been built with concrete sleepers acting as a lintel between. The timber sleeper surface was then reinstated and a non slip surface is currently being trialled over part of the dock. As part of the works, the height of the dock against the vehicles has been raised to remove the large step up into them.
